Networking Committee

The Networking Committee strives to provide opportunities for members to socialize, connect, and engage with each other. This committee is responsible for organizing, planning, and holding multiple ISPE-CaSA events, such as the RTP Golf Tournament, Greater Atlanta Golf Tournament, Oktoberfest, Winter Gala, and Therapeutic Thursdays (hopefully coming back soon!).

Therapeutic Thursdays have traditionally been held monthly on the last Thursday of the month at local restaurants, pubs, breweries, and/or wineries in the region, rotating locations and sponsors.  Therapeutic Thursdays are held outside the Raleigh-Durham/RTP area effective 2019.  Occasionally, an event may be held in conjunction with another chapter activity, such as one held by the Emerging Leaders or Education Committees. While these events were suspended during the pandemic, watch this space and our weekly e-blasts for information on upcoming Therapeutic Thursdays.

Greater Atlanta Area Golf Tournament: Registration is open for our Third Annual Greater Atlanta golf tournament, October 12, 2021, at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. Like the RTP tournament, this event is a fun, friendly, social and athletic competition among members and their guests, supported by sponsorships and golf fees, and includes a charity donation aspect.

Fall Networking Event:  Registration is open for Oktoberfest paired with an education session and Annual Planning Session. The event will be held at Tobacco Wood Brewing Company in Durham/RTP. Come to meet the 2021-22 Chapter Board of Directors, learn about events for the upcoming year, and explore volunteer opportunities with ISPE-CaSA committees.

Winter Networking Event: A fun night of entertainment and networking in a formal dress environment. Save the date for our 2022 Gala, March 5 at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary.

Spring Networking Event: Watch this space and the weekly e-blasts for information on an Eastern North Carolina Sporting Clays event, being planned for April 2022.

Charity Events:  Events held in conjunction with other events (e.g., Technology Conference, Golf Tournaments, Education Events) wherein the Chapter accepts donations of money and prizes. This may be held alone or in conjunction with another event, at a breakfast or evening reception, with rotating locations.

RTP Golf Tournament: Save the date for our next RTP area tournament, May 16, 2022, at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. The golf tournament is a fun, friendly, social and athletic competition among members and their guests, supported by sponsorships and golf fees, and includes a charity donation aspect.

This past May, the 26th Annual ISPE-CaSA RTP Golf Tournament set a fundraising record, raising $14,693.73 for the Jane Brown Scholarship program. Thanks to our Jane Brown Scholarship golf tournament sponsors Holloway America, Southern Industrial Constructors, Syska Hennessy Group. And a special thanks to Clayco for their additional generous donation to our scholarship fund. The Jane Brown Scholarship was established in 2015 to encourage students seeking a career in the life sciences industry. Jane Brown Scholarships are awarded to eligible CaSA Student Chapter members at the annual Life Sciences Technology Conference.

Congratulations to the winners of the 26th Annual Golf Tournament at Prestonwood!
